Although I didn't know Virgil Bays very well during our high school years he made a very favorable impression on me at our 30th THS Class of 71 Reunion. It was late into the night when our reunion activity ended and I exited the rented facility into the darkness of the parking lot only to discover it was pouring rain. Got soaked while running to my car. Out of the wet weather and inside the car I turned the ignition key. Nothing. The car wouldn't start. Reluctantly getting out of the car, I  went back inside the facility, looking like a drowned rat, and explained my dilemma. Virgil was there and he instantly offered his expertise, stepped outside into the rain and hurried to my car to diagnose the ignition problem. With flashlight in hand, he was soaked from head to toe by the time he determined it was an issue that would need to be resolved later. I thanked Virgil for his time and effort. - Rick "Bowers"
